Founded in 1720, the De Grendel winery has been owned by the Graaff family for five generations, which has played a successful role in shaping South Africa's economy for many years and is very socially committed.
The new red wine cuvée made from Shiraz (Syrah) and Petit verdot is a deep, dark wine full of rich, but above all fresh fruit, in which notes of wild berries, cherries, pepper, liquorice and cool stone dominate.
Ripe and full-bodied on the palate, but not ponderous or jammy.
Above all, the Petit Verdot variety, known from Bordeaux, brings a certain coolness and mineral polish, which goes wonderfully with the ripe Syrah fruit.
A great combination of two grape varieties that complement each other wonderfully.
