Pinot Gris, also called Pinot Grigio or Ruländer, belongs to the diverse Pinot family and is a mutation of Pinot Noir.
From Burgundy it first came to Switzerland and Hungary and probably from there to our regions in the 14th century.
The term Pinot goes back to the French pin (pine) and describes the grape shape reminiscent of pine cones.
This dry Pinot Gris is juicy and powerful with fine aromas of roasted nuts, almonds and pears.
As a young, light and fresh Pinot type, it can be enjoyed as an uncomplicated summer wine, but also as a versatile accompaniment to fish, poultry, asparagus and pasta.
